What I’ve Learned About Anxiety

It seems more and more people suffer from anxiety. In truth, anxiety and panic is being overcome by fearful thoughts.

Building confidence in your ability to handle anything which happens to you reduces the fear you feel.

If you want to become more confident and eliminate anxiety from your life, try the following:

Listen to your emotions.  Tune into how you feel. Allow yourself to feel your feelings and practice expressing how you really feel.

Avoid numbing your feelings : Alcohol, smoking, drugs, overworking, shopping, doomscrolling, and binging T.V series can be ways to avoid feeling. Instead talk to people about you feel. Or even journal your feelings out. Get out in nature. Rest. And say ‘No’ to any excess requests or demands on your time, so you can realy tune in to how you feel

Reach out for help: Tell someone you trust how you feel. A safe, non-judgemental space can help you be heard.

Find a passion in life: Find a bigger purpose for being here. If you feel stuck in a rut, think about making a change to your life by exploring subjects which interest you.

Push yourself to try something new. Change boring routines and stop unfulfilling habits.

Avoid the news and newspapers. These can evoke fear and trigger anxiety.

Avoid hanging out with negative, fearful people who moan and groan about the world: Become mindful about who you surround yourself with.

Explore energy healing: Reiki, Kinesiology, EFT, or any other treatments can help balance your energy field.

Reflect on the thoughts in your head: Become mindful of what you think. Often, thoughts sound like, I’m a failure, I’m useless, I cannot do this or I am of no use to anyone. These are all fear based. What would more loving thoughts sound like?
