Some people worry about everything. The past. The present. And certainly the future.
By the nature of being human, people worry. Maybe it helps a person feel in control. Preparing them to handle any threats which may come upon them. Hyper-vigilance is the norm for many.
However, worrying is wasted energy. Instead, we can spend that time making courageous decisions to resolve the thing we are worrying about.
Here are some suggestions to help you stop worrying.
- Write down what you are worried about. Ask what do I ‘think’ is going to happen
- Ask, what evidence do I have this ‘disaster’ is going to come true
- Ask, what advice would I give my best friend if she or he had this worry – then listen to that advice
- Ask what action you can take to prevent what you think is going to happen
- Take action using courage. It may not reach a solution but it is a step forward
- After taking the action, use the experience to learn from it, helping to make yourself a stronger, more emotionally resilient person
- Surrender to the universe and trust you are connected to a bigger force which is programmed to help you
When you take action to resolve a situation, it helps you feel as though you are doing something to resolve it.
I hope you find peace and at the beginning of each day. Remind yourself, ‘whatever happens I can handle it!”
